Do I need an appointment to visit Special Research Collections (SRC)?

Answer

Although individual researchers do not need to make an appointment to use the collections, we strongly recommend that requests be placed ahead of time using the Special Collections Research Account. Classes or groups that would like to use SRC materials for instruction or presentations do need to make an appointment by contacting the Reading Room in advance. Please see the Class Visits webpage for additional information.

Out-of-town researchers or researchers working on time-sensitive projects should contact Reading Room staff at least two weeks ahead of your visit. Some materials need to be retrieved from off-site and will not be immediately available without advance notice. Additionally, you may want to contact one of our Special Research Collections Curators or staff for more in-depth reference assistance.
