How do I renew an Interlibrary Loan (ILL)?

UCSB students, faculty, and staff can renew Interlibrary Loan items one of two ways:

  1. ILL materials borrowed from other University of California Libraries can be renewed through your My Library Account. Log in to your account using your UCSB NetID and password. Under “Institutions,” click on the UC campus your item was borrowed from, locate the item in the list of loans, and then click “Renew.” Items borrowed from within the UC system have 90 day check out periods and can be renewed up to three times, or up to one year. Once an item has reached the maximum check out period it can no longer be renewed.
  2. ILL materials with a blue strap will be renewed by ILL staff (if the lending library allows renewals) before the due date printed on the blue strap. You will receive a notice via email if the request is accepted or rejected by the lending library.
