Do the proxy server and VPN time out?

Answer

Both the proxy server and the VPN will log you off automatically after a period of inactivity.  If this happens, just log back in to resume your research.  The proxy server “Off-Campus Access” bookmark is a great tool for reactivating timed-out proxy sessions.  It can also be used to log into the proxy server if you started your research with a link that did not automatically route you through the proxy server.
