I was looking for a book in the stacks and all the shelves are empty in the area where it’s supposed to be located. Where can I find it?

The UCSB Library often shifts books to create additional space in the stacks. Check the books both before and after the empty shelves to find where the call numbers begin again. Sometimes the labels on the ends of the shelves will be incorrect while we are shifting and you will need to look at the call numbers on the physical books. If you still don’t find the book, visit the Services Desk and ask them to place a search on the book.
